The British government is set to progress with employing the full worth of frozen Russia's assets to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to come to the table.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

UK restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's assets since Russia initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had only been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were united in their desire to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He stated that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement comes after European officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to consider utilizing immobilized Russia's funds for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian assets, as reported by media sources.

The total of immobilized Russia's funds in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, leading to electricity outages in large parts of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.
