Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
It said wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
